This project is made to promote the playing of cricket within Hong Kong Island School, and potentially in other schools. The project is mainly directed to the students of the school from year 7 to year 13 (boys and girls aged 11-19), however it is also somewhat directed to the teachers, as they may be more encouraged to coach.

 

This project is needed, as over the past few years the amount of cricket played within Island School has declined. Last year (in the 2012-2013 season), we could not gather up a team to be able to play the senior league fixtures, which the school has been playing for a while. Therefore, students in the school got very little cricketing experience throughout the year. I aim to promote the sport of cricket within the school, to make it more popular with the students. Ideally, this project will aid us in the gathering of a team, as everything will be a lot more organised than it was previously. If things do go well we will be able to get a team together, sign up for the league and possibly win trophies for the school.
